How To Find Us


The district of Teesdale is in the north east of England in the county of Durham. It covers 836 square kilometres and includes the Middle and Upper Tees valley. In area it is the largest of the seven district councils in the county but has the lowest population.

Visiting Barnard Castle could not be more simple. Visitors travelling from the North can find Barnard Castle using the A68 to Bishop Auckland and then by following the A688 to Barnard Castle, while visitors from the South should travel using the A66.
