What you must do.
The customer will be required to sign a contract and also a controlled waste transfer note that ensures you comply with current legislation.

Under The Waste Managment, Duty of Care Act 1992, businesses have a duty to:
- Secure the waste against unauthorised removal as far as reasonably practicable. Security should be sufficient to prevent the breaking open of containers and removal of waste by vandals, thieves, children, animals, accident or weather.
- Package the waste in suitable containers so that it cannot fall out, or blow away from the receptacle.
- Ensure that the person removing your waste is either a Local Authority or a licensed waste removal company. You are responsible for ensuring that your waste is disposed of properly and must ask for proof from your waste contractor that they are an authorised person.
- Provide a written description of your waste to the person who removes it. This should indicate the quantity and type of materials in the waste.
- The customer will be required to sign a contract.
What Happen's Next?
Upon receipt of a signed contract and payment details, the container(s) will be delivered within 7 working days.
You will be informed of your agreed point of collection and collection day.

Why does the council charge for collection of commercial waste?
Commercial organisations pay 'national non-domestic rates' for their premises. These rates do not include an element for the collection of waste.
