Disabled and older people's railcards

If you are aged 60 or over or are an eligible disabled person you can obtain a railcard for discounted railfares.

Senior Railcard

If you are aged 60 or over, you are eligible for the Senior Railcard which provides the holder with one third off most Standard and First Class rail fares. The Railcard costs £26 and is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Application forms are available at any staffed railway station ticket office or travel centre. You can make a purchase or renewal of a Railcard at any staffed rail station or from any appointed travel agent. When making an application you will need to provide proof of age.

Disabled Persons Railcard

The Disabled Persons Railcard costs £18 for one year or £48 for three years. It allows a one third discount on most Standard and First Class fares as well as the same reduced fare for an adult who is accompanying you.

A Disabled Persons Railcard holder under the age of 16 will travel at the appropriate child fare for the journey, and will get up to one third off most leisure fares for an adult accompanying you.

Application forms for the Disabled Person Railcard (including details on benefits, eligibility and conditions) can be found in the booklet 'Rail Travel for Disabled Passengers'. This can be obtained from stations, travel centres and main post offices and on completion should be posted together with proof of entitlement to the address below. Information on qualifications for entitlement can be obtained from staffed rail stations or by post from the Disabled Persons Railcard Office.
