Abandoned Vehicles

Teesdale District Council will deal with any vehicles which appear to have been abandoned, in accordance with the correct legal procedures which are in place at the time. If you suspect a vehicle has been abandoned, please contact the Environmental Health Section.

 
If a vehicle is causing an obstruction to a public highway or right of way or if it requires immediate removal on safety grounds, please contact the Durham Constabulary on 0845 60 60 365.

Abnormal Loads

 Before a haulier can move an abnormal load (a gross wieght exceeding 40 tonnes) he must notify and gain consent from the Police. In addition, if the gross weight or axle weights exceed those specified on the C and U regulations he must indemnify the Highway Authority and all bridge owners along the proposed route (e.g. Network Rail).
